New Delhi [India], November 7:<\/strong> A press conference was organised on 6th November 2025 at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi<\/strong>, to announce the forthcoming\u00a0International Conference on Urban Cooperative Credit Sector \u2013 \u201cCo-op Kumbh 2025,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0being hosted by the\u00a0National Federation of Urban Co-operative Banks and Credit Societies (NAFCUB)<\/strong>. The apex body represents over\u00a01,500 Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs)<\/strong>\u00a0and nearly\u00a060,000 Credit Societies<\/strong>\u00a0across India.<\/p>\n

The two-day global conference, scheduled for\u00a010\u201311 November 2025 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi<\/strong>, is being organised with the support of the\u00a0Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India<\/strong>. Themed\u00a0\u201cDigitalising Dreams \u2013 Empowering Communities,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0the event marks a defining moment in India\u2019s cooperative journey and celebrates the\u00a0International Year of Cooperatives 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The conference aims to bring together\u00a0policymakers, regulators, cooperative leaders, technology experts, international partners, and academia<\/strong>\u00a0to chart a roadmap for a digitally empowered and inclusive cooperative credit ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media,\u00a0Shri Laxmi Dass, President, NAFCUB<\/strong>, stated that\u00a0\u201cCo-op Kumbh 2025 is not merely a conference; it is a collective movement to reimagine cooperative finance in the digital era. Through dialogue, innovation, and shared vision, we aim to empower communities and strengthen the cooperative foundation of financial inclusion in India.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Co-op Kumbh 2025 will focus on\u00a0policy innovation, governance reform, technological advancement, and international collaboration<\/strong>\u00a0in the cooperative credit sector. Discussions will explore ways to enhance professionalism, promote transparency, and accelerate the digital transformation of UCBs and Credit Societies, in alignment with the Government of India\u2019s\u00a0\u201cSahkar Se Samriddhi\u201d<\/em>\u00a0mission.\u00a0Shri Amit Shah, Hon\u2019ble Union Minister of Home and Cooperation<\/strong>, will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural session.\u00a0Shri Suresh Prabhu, Chairman, National Cooperation Policy Committee (Government of India), Former Chairman, Saraswat Cooperative Bank, Former Board Member, NAFCUB & NCUI and Former Union Cabinet Minister<\/strong>\u00a0will preside over the\u00a0Valedictory Session<\/strong>\u00a0of this International Conference.<\/p>\n

A key highlight of the event will be the adoption of the\u00a0\u201cDelhi Declaration 2025 \u2013 Roadmap to 2030,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0a visionary policy document outlining strategies for strengthening governance, capital adequacy, risk management, and digital inclusion across cooperative institutions.<\/p>\n

The conference will feature sessions on\u00a0Corporate Governance and Professionalism in Cooperative Banking<\/strong>,\u00a0Role of NUCFDC and Cooperation Among Cooperatives<\/strong>,\u00a0Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Transformation<\/strong>,\u00a0Women and Youth in Cooperatives: Leadership, Innovation, and Inclusion<\/strong>, and\u00a0International Dialogue on Credit Unions and Financial Inclusion<\/strong>. International experts from the\u00a0World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU)<\/strong>,\u00a0Green Stone Farm Credit Services (USA)<\/strong>, and leading Indian partners will share global perspectives and innovations in cooperative finance.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media,\u00a0Shri Jyotindra M. Mehta, President, NUCFDC<\/strong>, said,
\n\u201cCo-op Kumbh 2025 represents a new dawn for the cooperative credit movement. It is a convergence of ideas, innovation, and inclusion\u2014where technology meets trust. Our goal is to build a digitally empowered cooperative ecosystem that ensures prosperity for every member of society.\u201d<\/p>\n

Expected outcomes include the\u00a0adoption of the Delhi Declaration 2025<\/strong>,\u00a0policy recommendations<\/strong>\u00a0to the Ministry of Cooperation, RBI, and State Governments,\u00a0new partnerships and MoUs<\/strong>\u00a0between domestic and global cooperative institutions, creation of a\u00a0knowledge repository<\/strong>\u00a0on digital innovations and governance practices, and\u00a0empowerment of women and youth leadership<\/strong>\u00a0within the cooperative movement.<\/p>\n

With participation from over\u00a01,500 Urban Cooperative Banks, 60,000 Credit Societies<\/strong>, and representatives from\u00a0WOCCU, ICA, ICBA, ACCU<\/strong>, and other international cooperative bodies, Co-op Kumbh 2025 will serve as a landmark platform reaffirming the role of cooperatives as key pillars of\u00a0Atmanirbhar Bharat<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Digital India<\/em>. Through this initiative, NAFCUB seeks to position India\u2019s cooperative sector as a\u00a0global model of inclusive, ethical, and digitally empowered finance<\/strong>, promoting sustainable growth and community resilience.<\/p>\n
